Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply spray sunscreen correctly? +
Hold the can 4-6 inches from your skin and spray generously in a continuous sweeping motion until skin glistens. Rub in thoroughly with your hands to ensure even coverage. Don't spray directly into wind, and never spray near your face. For facial application, spray into your hands first, then apply.
Can I spray this directly on my face? +
No. Never spray sunscreen directly onto your face. Instead, spray the product into your hands first, then apply to your face avoiding the eye area. This prevents inhalation and ensures safe, even application.
Does the 360-degree spray really work upside down? +
Yes. Our spray bottles are designed with 360-degree continuous spray technology, which means you can spray from any angle, even upside down. This makes it easy to reach your back, shoulders, and other hard-to-reach areas without help.
How much should I use? +
For full body coverage, spray for approximately 3-4 seconds per body area (arms, legs, torso, back). You should see a visible sheen on your skin before rubbing in. Most people under-apply spray sunscreen, so be generous and always rub it in thoroughly.
Is this reef safe? +
Yes. All SolRX spray formulas are Hawaii Act 104 compliant and free from oxybenzone and octinoxate, two chemicals known to harm coral reefs. You can protect your skin and the ocean at the same time.
Can I use this on children? +
Yes, but with precautions. Our Kids SPF 60+ Spray is specifically formulated for children. Always spray onto your hands first, then apply to the child's skin. Never spray directly onto a child's face or body. Adult supervision is required for application to avoid inhalation.
How long does spray sunscreen last before I need to reapply? +
Reapply spray sunscreen every 2 hours during sun exposure, or every 80 minutes after swimming or heavy sweating. Even water-resistant formulas need consistent reapplication to maintain protection. Always reapply immediately after towel drying, as this can remove sunscreen from your skin.
Why do I need to rub in spray sunscreen? +
Rubbing in spray sunscreen ensures even coverage and proper absorption. Simply spraying without rubbing can leave gaps in protection and may result in uneven application. Always rub the product into your skin after spraying for maximum effectiveness.
