About Dr. Sewell
Dr. Sewell is a board-certified dermatologist and micrographic dermatologic surgeon with a full 1-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, practicing at High Valley Dermatology in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He earned his degree at George Washington University School of Medicine, completed his dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and finished a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology, also at Geisinger. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery.
He also holds an MBA from Indiana University, earned in 2020, and has grown High Valley Dermatology from a single location to five practice locations across Idaho Falls, Rigby, and Driggs, Idaho as well as Alpine, Wyoming.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Sewell and his beautiful wife have eight children and they all have a love for the outdoors. They love beaches, boating and other watersports, hiking, mountains, tennis, baseball, and other in-the-sun athletic activities. Yet, they also know the need to stay sun-safe. Dr. Sewell is an avid believer and preacher of "Do the activities you like to do, just be safe while doing them." Hence, we started Clinical Perspectives to bring the sun-protection guidance he gives patients every day to a wider audience.
